ICSA’s Life Focus group is an excellent initiative. They can be called upon to listen from a perspective of lived experience on issues including Farm Succession/Failed Succession; Marriage Breakdown; Parent Alienation, Family Disputes; Mental Health; Rural Isolation; Farm Finances; Banking Issues, and more. Together they have experienced the full raft of problems and issues that can arise over the course of a farming life.
The Land Mobility Service were very impressed with the events organised by the warm and welcoming team at the ICSA stand and especially the Life Focus Group organisers. Mícheál provided advice and information on what options are available with regard to succession planning and managing change, including collaborative farming arrangement options. Mícheál emphasised that for those thinking about change or for those who feel there is no plan, options do exist. Other speakers on the day provided excellent advice and support to those who were in attendance. The key message on the day was that difficult life situations do not have to be faced alone, and if you need help, to reach out and explore the options available to you.
