Outline of the Service and Terms of Engagement

The Land Mobility Service (The Service) is a farm Generational Renewal and Support Service. It is an independent, expert and confidential service that aims to promote and facilitate sustainable arrangements either within or outside the family. Collaborative farming arrangements are the focus including share farming, partnerships, contract rearing and long-term leasing leading to the more productive and sustainable use of land. The Service seeks to provide options for land owners and opportunities for young farmers.

The Land Mobility Service, a Macra na Feirme initiative established in 2015 has widespread agricultural sector support. Stakeholders and financial supporters include Aurivo, Dairygold, Lakeland, Glanbia, Kerry and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. This support allows the Service to be subsidised, confidential and without obligation. This means you can obtain advice, explore and pursue options safe in the knowledge that any fee will be limited and that there is no pressure.

By engaging with the Land Mobility Service you will be provided with the services of a Land Mobility Facilitator who will, along with your existing professionals such as Agricultural Consultant, Accountant/Tax Adviser, Property Service Provider, and Solicitor, endeavour to work out the best scenario for both the farmer(s) and/or landowner depending on the form of collaboration being
developed. This will mean having contact and farm/farming information on our data base and confidentially sharing appropriate information with your advisors and potential collaborators.

The Service provided is facilitation, farm advice and succession consultancy. We are not property service providers or property agents.

The Land Mobility Facilitator will focus on facilitating a sustainable and workable collaborative arrangement. The Service will assist in developing farm plans, budgets, and draft agreements with a view to formulating an arrangement that it works for all parties.

Should the Service identify expressions of interest for your opportunity or potential collaborators for you this must not be relied upon as confirmation of ability, trust worthiness or compatibility, additional due diligence will be required by you. The decision as to the person or persons with whom you collaborate, the final form of the agreement, and the terms of said agreement is yours.

Engagers with the service must not rely on the Land Mobility Service alone for accountancy, taxation
or legal advice. It is strongly recommended that you seek professional advice before entering into
any collaborative farming or long term leasing arrangement.
