The Macra Na Feirme, Land Mobility Generational Renewal Support Service is publishing and launching a new report and information book as well as a new look website.
A launch event for this will take place on Wednesday March 29th 3pm Buswells Dublin.
The timing is appropriate as we start a new CAP cycle with farming and food production facing new challenges and opportunity. It is in this context that we need to ensure generational renewal is not neglected. Young people are needed to ensure progression, provide prospective and ensure new approaches and technologies are adopted.
The service, an FBD Trust and Macra initiative, was established in 2015. In the interim it has grown and demonstrated its need. It is helping with generation renewal through providing Options for Land Owners and Opportunities for Young Farmers. There are presently three facilitators in place with demand for more.
2022 was the most successful year to date with a large increase in inquiries and engagements. Since inception, the Service has facilitated almost 1,000 arrangements representing more than 75,000 acres and almost 2,000 farm entities.
Provision of the service would not be possible without the support of FBD, Food Processors, The Dept of Agriculture and others.
On the day there will be an opportunity to meet with facilitators as well as service users.
